Trail Work
Two trail work days are planned in the St. Helens area for this summer. We want to do our best to get 10+ people to each one. Brian will do the recon and let us know in advance what we are up against, what tools are needed, etc. Right now, we just need strong backs and weak minds – and those are in large supply.

All of us are incredibly lucky to be able to ride on trails at the mountain. It’s no secret that the Forest Service has no money for maintenance. That means that we need to suck it up and lend a hand.

Sign up sheets will be available on June 20th:

  • June 27th: South Coldwater 230A – This is the only trail open on the north side that is easily accessible from SR504. The route to St. Helens Lake is spectacular and rugged. Goals are to brush the lower three miles and do what we can with shovels to make some of the top stuff a bit more rideable. If you haven’t been up there, now is the time. Bring your camera.
  • July 26th: Ape Canyon – This will be our third year in a row at Ape Canyon. What a difference our work has made! How can anyone get tired of riding on the shoulder of an active volcano?

  1. Now I know why Thomas liked his ride group. I knew he didn’t play well with others either.

  2. I still think Lance should lead the Limp Burritos again…AND he should take them up to the 310 and down Creation where the men are men and the limp burritos fall all the way down.

  3. Everyone rides to Creation……….313 hill is the best part of Growlers!

  6. Yes, Bongo, as either Crump or Bill Shakespeare used to say, “It’s all one.”

  7. I tried talking the DH crew into doing the tour on our DH bikes, but i didn’t much support. I’m
dragging the the DH’ers up the 313, I only got a
little bit of whining out of some of them for
    that idea! HA HA
