Mel will be again be raising money for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. This year’s event will be held in honor of Wayne Carlson, father or GGR member Erik Carlson. Wayne was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year.
Details regarding start time and general logistics are still in the works.
The fundraiser will include a post-ride shrimp boil at Casa del Norris in Kalama. Everyone – even those who don’t ride – are invited to attend. Suggested donation is $20 per person.
Mel and Paul are located at 155 Eli Avery Avenue. Directions below.
Additional donations can be mailed to Mel at P.O. Box 1092, Kalama, WA 98625-1000. Make checks payable to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Let’s get on board and do whatever we can to fight this terrible disease.
Please contact Mel at melanie.norris@kyocera.com to let her know if you will be attending the ride, the party or both.
Last year, Mel combined her 40th birthday ride with the fundraiser, which honored the fathers of Carla Mitchem, Susan Martin and Shaun Alexander.
Mel knocked down 40 miles of single-track and was joined by a huge crew for the final leg at Falls Creek. Check the story here.
