Moon, Hansen, Jamieson First at Hood

Al Hansen
Local riders dominated at Round Three of the Fluidride Cup Series at Mount Hood on June 26th through 28th. The course dropped riders 1,600 vertical feet in approximately five minutes.
Al Hansen followed his win at Spring Thaw in Ashland with another gold in Expert 19-29. Hansen clocked in at 4:19. Lloyd Smith was 26th, with a time of 5:05.
Jason Moon took home his second title of the season by winning the Expert 40+ division in 4:30. Darrell Jamieson finished 4th with a time of 4:44, despite suffering a major crash. Monte Price was 5th with a 4:48, and Silent Bob Juntunen took 10th with a 5:22.
In the pro division, Eric Loney placed 7th among 42 racers, finishing in 4:08. J.D. Swanguen, who rides for Intense and Troy Lee Designs, won the event in 4:02.
Chase Jamieson won the 14-and-under DH in 9:32. Tyler Rua – Monte’s nephew – was 3rd in the 15-18 group with a time of 5:35, and Geo Smith ran a 5:54 to grab 2nd in the 50+ Open division. Nick Hansen was second in 30-39 Sport with a 5:36.
