Growlers Updates

Weather: Talked with Weyerhaeuser folks today. They don’t plan to re-open the woods until there is more rainfall. I’m not seeing any precip in this week’s forecast.

TT and Climbing Championships: We currently have 21 people signed up for the Climbing Championships (September 12th) and 30 for the TT (September 20th). Don’t be surprised if these dates get changed due to the woods closure. Also, there is a high likelihood that the new dates will be decided quickly, which means less chance for you to plan. The DHers have their season-ending race at Hood on September 26th-27th so that weekend is out. If we have to reschedule, we’ll just have to factor the risk of dealing with angry hunters as part of the event.

Brigman 2nd at Hood: Lance Brigman of Growlers Gulch Racing and Three Rivers Cycling finished second in the Masters Division at the OBRA Hill-Climbing Championships at Mount Hood on August 16th. He covered the 5.6-mile course in 33 minutes 15 seconds. The route was approximately 7 percent and finished at Timberline Lodge.

Lance will be at the Growlers Gulch Climbing Championship, so you will have the opportunity to test your climbing skills against his.
