Lewis River Trail Claims Rudy Norris
September 8, 2009 on 2:43 pm | In Mountain Biking | 11 CommentsIt’s always tough to lose a ride partner.
Paul and Mel’s dog, Rudy “Ride Big or Go Home” Norris of Growlers Gulch Racing, died in a biking accident on the Lewis River Trail on Sunday, September 6th.
Rudy failed to navigate an off-camber corner at speed and plunged off a 125-foot cliff. Paul, Jeff Muldoon, and Ryan McMaster hiked down to provide assistance, but Rudy died less than a minute after they arrived.
“It was a terrible situation,” Paul said, “but the good things were that Rudy died on trail and he didn’t suffer.”
Rudy is survived by his parents, Paul and Mel Norris; a sister, Averie; a brother, Muddy; and close friend and trail buddy Trait Muldoon.
Happy trails, Rudy. We’ll miss you.

I like most dogs more than I like most people and Rudy was one of those dogs. Sorry to hear it. Weyco has reopened their land so tommorrows after work ride will be one for remembering all the good dogs.
