Al Hansen Claims TT Crown
September 21, 2009 on 4:56 pm | In Mountain Biking | 5 CommentsAl Hansen of Project 529 and Growlers Gulch Racing cruised to an easy victory at the 2009 Growlers Gulch Time Trial on September 20th. Hansen, who was the runner-up at the 2008 GGTT, smoked the course in 6:29 to take the title.
Cage Aaron (Northwest Trail Alliance) was second in 6:58, followed by Thor Jones (Bob’s) in 7:01. Dara Hartman of Growlers Gulch Racing took the women’s title with a time of 9:03.
Luminaries included 2009 10-and-Under National DH champion Chase Jamieson, 2009 Cat 1 Masters National DH champion Darrell Jamieson, and GG5K winner Mike Van Hoose.

The season’s final event – The Growlers Gulch Climbing Championship – is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th. There is still time to sign up. Speed will not be a factor in the GGCC. Points are awarded to those who can remain on their bikes for the entire climb.

Lots of great riders in this group of guys and gals. Nice job Al…I’m still wondering how I could “shave” off 2-plus minutes to get close to your time. Even with a motor I don’t think it’s possible.
