GGG Going Strong

November 4, 2009 on 1:33 pm | In Mountain Biking | 4 Comments

The Growlers Gulch Girls celebrated their one-year anniversary with a group ride at Growlers on October 31st. Numbers were down a bit because of nasty weather, but Melanie Norris, Dara Hartman, Denise Livingston, Sam Loney, and Tonya Breedlove didn’t let that get in the way. See photos and vid clip below.

GGG founder Norris has big goals for 2010. “I’d like to get more women involved and keep them riding through the winter,” she said. ”I lost a lot of them over the winter last year and some of them have not been back.”

She also plans to recruit GGG members to participate in as many events as possible on the 2010 Growlers Gulch ride circuit, including the GG 5K and the Ride ‘em All. And, finally, Norris would like to stretch some boundaries by introducing the girls to high-elevation rides at Mount St. Helens.

Job #1 remains the same – have fun. If you are interested in joining the party, contact Mel at bikeschick@gmail.com or Dara at dara@darahartman.com.

  4. Looks like Paul stole your front fender. He took my wife’s fender off too, at Falls Creek this summer. Now she wants me to but it back on. Told her to call him.
