Ed Strong Recovering at Home

After undergoing surgery at OHSU on Tuesday to remove five small tumors in his brain, local mountain biking legend Ed Strong is now recovering at home.

“I stopped to see him, and he is doing as well as might be expected,” said Vaughn Martin, Ed’s longtime friend and biking partner. “His eyesight is bad, but they are expecting that to improve as he fully recovers from the surgery. They removed five tumors, but, as in the past, they had to leave some behind.”

If you have ever turned a crank on the Haryu side at Stella, you were riding on trail built by Ed and Vaughn. As I mentioned in my previous post, Ed’s contributions to mountain biking in Southwest Washington cannot be overstated. Not to mention the fact that he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

I encourage everyone to call him at 503.556.9489 or send him a card at 29644 River View, Rainier, OR 97048 to wish him well.
