New Trail Line

You can count on Dave to make sure that you get the most out of your health care dollars. By jettisoning some of his trivial “work-related” projects, he has once again found time to conduct extensive research of area topo maps.

The result is a proposed new line that parallels the Monahan Creek heading west. The yellow line on the right begins near Cooley’s Loop and follows an existing cat road. Shovel work will be required in several places but most of the line will be relatively easy to put in.

The red line shows what Dave and Lipton discovered in mid-January. If you take a right when you exit Double Down, you will be able to access their new line. This will not only add another mile or so to the system but it will also link the upper trails to the Creek Trail area and give us another way to descend.

And for those who have been complaining that the Ride ‘em All is not challenging enough, this will up the ante.

Check out the small dark green patch just above the yellow line on the right side of the map. This is the proposed Bike Park that we hope to pursue one day. If you haven’t been over there to take a look, it’s worth the stop.
