Project to Improve Parking at Stella Trailhead

Brad Burger is heading up a project to improve the parking situation at the Stella trailhead.

Burger has agreed to front the cost for having gravel trucked in. He has also been in contact with Mark and Shelley White, whose father owns the parking area. Mr. White has agreed to have an excavator dig a trench to divert water and then put the gravel down. Burger expects the project to be completed by late March or early April.

“The Whites appreciate our respect for their property in the form of trash control,” Burger said. ”This is what allowed the parking area to be improved.”

He anticipates an increase in traffic on the Stella side once the Golden Spike is completed and sees the parking improvement as an essential step.

Those interested in lending a hand can do so with a $10 donation. Send to:

  1. Anyone who parks at Stella knows how mucky it can be. It is a privilege that the Whites allow us to park on their lot so lets all kick in if you park there…even a few times a year is cheaper than parking twice at a Forest Service trailhead.
