TDG XIII Set for June 19th

May 26, 2010 on 12:30 pm | In Mountain Biking | 11 Comments

For the thirtheenth consecutive year, the foremost mountain biking event west of Castle Rock on the third Saturday in June will take place at Growlers Gulch.

The 13th Annual Tour de Gulch will be held on Saturday, June 19th, with the usual festivities to follow at the Post-Ride Pub at 465. For the 36 riders who completed the GG5K, the TDG represents the second wheel in the quest for coveted Fist of Five recognition.

What’s It About?
The TDG has a special vibe. We’re not interested in seeing how many people we can recruit. It’s all about getting together with friends to celebrate our love of mountain biking.

We’ll probably have about eight to ten ride guides available. You can sign up in advance for a group that fits your ability level. We’ll have at least one or two groups with a snappy pace, a Clydesdale group, one or two DH crews, a GGG group and more. Plan on being out for 3-4 hours on a specially guided tour.

Big Giveaway: Too much bike stuff in your garage? Bring it out. If you want to work out a trade with somebody, fine. But the general idea is to simply offer items for free that you want to get rid of.

Sign-up:
This ride is invitation only. Because of increased ridership at Growlers, we expect this year’s Tour to be a tough ticket so contact me ASAP if you want one of the 60 spots. First priority goes to those who have helped with trail work; I’ll have a waiting list for those who haven’t.
