Chris Nemlowill, co-owner of the Fort George Brewery, has announced that the Fort has re-upped as a Tour de Gulch sponsor. The Fort joins Highlander Cycling and Cyclepath as platinum sponsors of this year’s event.

Al Hansen is representing Growlers Gulch Racing during the negotiations and is also handling procurement and transport.

An experienced beerman, Hansen has vowed to once again make Fort George’s much-loved Vortex IPA available to TDG participants.

At most brewpubs, a beer as big as Vortex would be considered an Imperial. At the Fort, it’s their house brew.

Vortex is made with Cascade, Simcoe, and Palisade hops and weighs in at 7.4 percent ABV with 97 IBUs. Nemlowill says that Vortex is designed to “send your palate into a lupulin-ecstacy of pleasure.”

Fort George Brewery is located at 1483 Duane Street in Astoria. Be sure to stop in, enjoy a beer and a bite to eat, and let Chris know how much we appreciate his support.

  2. Many thanks to Chris at Ft. George for the support and a great beer. Let’s hope our beerman and transport is able refrain from early sampling.
