Jamieson Sidelined with Injury

August 10, 2010 on 4:17 pm | In Mountain Biking | 2 Comments

Darrell Jamieson will miss the Growlers Gulch Super D and the World Masters’ Championships due to a severe shoulder injury.

The defending Cat 1 Masters champion was at the USA Cycling Mountain Bike Nationals at Granby Ranch Bike Park in Sol Vista, Colorado, in July when disaster struck. Jamieson crashed hard during a preliminary run and was unable to compete in the finals.

Worse news arrived a few weeks later when his doctor discovered a bone chip and a full rotator cuff tear. Jamieson will be off his DH bike until 2011.

The news isn’t great for the rest of us either. Darrell has said he will focus on XC riding and has vowed to take his conditioning to new levels.

Get well soon, Darrell.
