Loney Rocks to Win at Willamette Pass

August 19, 2008 on 1:28 pm | In Mt. Biking |

Eric Loney toasted the competition to take the Oregon state semi-pro downhill title at Willamette Pass on Sunday, August 17th. Loney’s winning time of 3:50.11 was the second-fastest of the day and just behind the top time posted in the pro division.

Loney currently ranks first in the six-race Fluidride Cup series, which continues this week at Port Angeles before returning to Mount Hood. He is also the leader in the Washington state championship series.

In a recent interview, Loney admitted that he is using this year’s race competition to prepare for what he considers to be the season’s crown jewel - the Growlers Gulch Time Trial on September 20th.
