Probably an illusion, but Lance seems more muscular these days. Hmm.

Lance Brigman of the Growlers Gulch Cycling Team continues to dominate the 2009 OBRA point standings. He currently ranks first in Master’s and 16th among riders of all age groups in this year’s Ironman series.

After racking up a first and second in two races at Cherry Pie in February, Brigman, 62, missed his start time at Jack Frost and was unjustly penalized. He bounced back by crushing the competition at the Banana Belt Road Race Series in Forest Grove, Oregon, on March 1 and again on March 22.

“I dressed too heavy and was hot in a bad way the first of four laps (44 miles total),” Brigman said of his most recent BB performance. “But then it started to blow and rain and I was perfect.”

Brigman is a two-time winner of the Growlers Gulch 5,000 and will be on hand on May 9th to challenge for the 2009 title.

  1. Check him for doping. They do it to that other Lance biker guy randomly about every 3 days.

  2. And I though the 5K wasn’t a race…

  3. I have tried, without success, to remove the competitiveness from this event. I think having times and a defending champion make it a tough sell.
