Biking Poem from an Eight-Year-Old

My number-one grandson, Carter J. Hanley, had surgery yesterday. See the photo at the bottom of the page. He has two more incisions further below the belt. It’s going to take him a while to get back on his bike, but this post is for him.

I know most of you losers can barely compose a sentence, let alone a poem, so the beauty of this work may elude you.

Biking
Riding,
   sliding with the brakes

Pedals,
   chain,
      handlebars,
         grips,
            wheels.

I love to ride.

Carter Hanley

  1. Don’t worry Carter, you’ll be back on your bike “sliding with the brakes” in no time. Fortunately, your literary gift is not linked to Uncle D.
