Jason Moon walked away with the top spot in the Expert 40+ division at the Fluidride Cup Series race at Port Angeles on May 3rd and 4th. Al Hansen and Darrell Jamieson both racked up top-five finishes in their respective classifications.

Moon blew away the competition with a 2:59, nearly four seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Jamieson was 4th in 3:05, Monte Price was 9th in 3:20, and George Smith was 16th in 3:40.

In the pro division, Eric Loney posted a 2:50/2:49 split to finish a very respectable 15th out of 76 riders. Because this Fluidride event was part of the National Gravity Tour, the competition was loaded with factory-sponsored and nationally-ranked riders.

Curtis Keene – who was 5th at both the U.S. Open Pro DH and the U.S. National Mountain Bike Series Finals in 2007 – won the event with a time of 2:39. Luke Strobel, the top-ranked DHer in North America, finished second. Needless to say, the guys Eric is competing against this year are the big dogs.

Al Hansen railed to a 2:55 in the Expert 19-29 classification to take second. Lloyd Smith was 44th with a 3:27.

Chase Jamieson was second in the 14-and-under category with a time of 4:12. Casey Cox had a 3:37 to place 15th in Sport 19-29, and Kevin Knorr finished 35th in the same division with a 4:07.

Great job guys. The rest of us can only dream of going that fast.
