I had no excuse for my pitiful performance this year...except the quality of riders increased tenfold!

Thanks to my brother for his hospitality and to Al Hansen for bring the keg of Ft. George Vortex IPA...and to all of the other riders finishing ahead of me (virtually everybody) for not draining the keg before I rolled in.

If you think those times were slow, wait until you see the MPH for the Ride 'em All. There won't be any long stretches of gravel to ease the pain. Nothing but non-stop interval single-track.

The fastest average speed is around only about ten miles an hour; ...you turtles ! Like Dr. Jimmy said to me one time: "All you ever do is CROSS COUNTRY... ...I don't want to do cross country... I want to get air!" So if you're only going to go a measily 10MPH why not add jumps next year? You could have a beam sensors to trigger a photo to measure elevation for max air; maybe requiring racers to be reaching a certain elevation ! Joking, or not. Albeit Great accomplishments; you have my permission to do it again next year. If I enter next year is there a prize for the SLOWEST time/least air that I might win; like, say, the best beer mug?

Great event! I just hope Mel's arm is healed in time for the other wheels. If not, I will just have to stay at home with her.........Probably not.

The problem is that there are too darn many great riders! I thought that if I completed the opening leg in 1:30, I'd be in good shape. I rang it up in 1:18 and was in 18th place! Very disturbing.
