I swear Tony’s tires were floating above the trail as he passed me uphill on Creation. Great time, Tony!

I don’t remember the first 15 minutes or so after finishing but I DO know I swore to never to do this again. I’m sure, with being so stupid, I will end up signing up next year.

Still can’t figure out how Tana got lost when there was someone right in front and behind her at the start of heading to Ridge.

I send young or strong riders to punish you and tell them to work for you on our system as make up. I tell them lies, they Only have to work one day a year building trails. Tom – We are looking at an early work party to tweak the 211 at Coldwater. If accessible, we’d like to begin work on the 230 that day as well.

As anticipated, a group of project opponents including Friends of Mt. Hood, Bark, Mazamas, Sierra Club and others have filed an appeal to the USFS. This was expected and we won’t know the outcome for some time. Beyond an appeal, thsy could also file a lawsuit, which could potentially hold up the project even further. This was the tactic used to delay the bike park project at Stevens Pass, and the project was held up for several years. So, we’ll await the outcome…

We are aiming for an encore for last year’s grand opening. Scheduled for September 21. We are referring to it as The Bike Park Blowout. Our goal is to again draw 350+ people and to make it a great day for kids. Probably a similar format – 10 to 15 station kids’ challenge. Prizes. Lunch provided.

I wish there was some way we could pay you, but we don’t have a budget for anything other than basic materials.

Thanks kindly Jeep for the recognition. I was the initial catalyst for getting the program going down here, but honestly could not have gone far with this without a great supporting group of coaches and volunteers, especially Dave Webb and Bill Warring. It takes teamwork to make something like this work, and I have been blessed to have a great supporting cast around me, makes me look much better than I am!
Help us keep the momentum going, we need more teams to develop in the area along with the two that exist in SW WA. Our teams just got registered, and training starts at end of the month, remember, 7th and 8th graders are eligible in the new Middle School Category. Agree…it was a great day with Kevin and Ryan providing lots of valuable nuggets on the secrets of cornering. Thanks guys! I paid particular attention when they reminded us that scrubbing speed due to poor cornering skills requires a rider to expend more energy to get back up to speed.

We hope to have the 230 connector, which links the 211 and the 230A, cleared later this fall or early next spring. That will not only give you a loop, but you can also extend your ride to St. Helens Lake. Not huge mileage but a real epic feel.
