Today is the one-year anniversary of our ground-breaking at the Castle Rock Bike Park.
A small crew from Growlers Gulch Racing was on hand on June 22, 2011, to install silt fencing and complete a scrape-off of the old BMX track, which was located where the pump tracks are today.
When you look back at what we have accomplished in the past year, you begin to understand how lucky we are to have such a remarkable group of people involved in this project.
In the past 365 days, we have recorded 1,556.5 volunteer hours, with 97 people stepping up to lend a hand. Work remains, but we are feeling great about our progress and aiming for a grand opening in September to celebrate.
The next work party is Saturday, July 14th.
Actually (if you look close) that’s when Randy blind-sided me with a weak right hook. I was not expecting it.
