Goat Mountain Ride Report

Brian Mahon and Ken Noble recently completed a ride from Ryan Lake up Goat Mountain and eventually down into the Gren River. To say the scenery is spectacular is the grossest of understatements.

Things begin with an ass-kicking climb up Goat Mountain and then to Vanson Peak (You should anticipate problems when you are forced to climb a mountain and then have to go from there to a peak).

The Green River holds some of the Pacific Northwest’s largest trees. This is forest primeval. It has never been logged.

Check the photos. Does this look like a good place for mining activity? Currently, that is the plan.

Ken Noble between Goat Mountain and Vanson Peak. Yes, things tend to drop off slightly.

Brian heading into the Green River. Those trees below him are actually about 150 to 250 feet tall.

Ken Noble along the Green River. That tree to his left is a runt compared to some of the others in that area.
